¹⁷They said to God, ‘Leave us alone!
What can the Almighty do to us?’^(A)

⁹For he has said, ‘^(A)It is of no use to a man
When he ^[a]is pleased with God.’

⁹For he says, ‘There is no profit
in trying to please God.’^(A)
