⁹ Their houses are safe from fear,
    and no rod of God is upon them.^(A)

⁵ They are not in trouble as others are;
    they are not plagued like other people.^(A)

³⁴ If he would take his rod away from me
    and not let dread of him terrify me,^(A)

¹⁹     creating for their mourners the fruit of the lips.^[a]
Peace, peace, to the far and the near, says the Lord,
    and I will heal them.^(A)
20 But the wicked are like the tossing sea
    that cannot keep still;
    its waters toss up mire and mud.^(B)
21 There is no peace, says my God, for the wicked.^(C)

¹⁹ How they are destroyed in a moment,
    swept away utterly by terrors!^(A)

¹¹ Terrors frighten them on every side
    and chase them at their heels.^(A)

²¹ Terrifying sounds are in their ears;
    in prosperity the destroyer will come upon them.^(A)
