Job 19:7-12
New American Standard Bible
Everything Is Against Him
7 “Behold, (A)I cry, ‘Violence!’ but I get no answer;
I shout for help, but there is no justice.
8 He has (B)blocked my way so that I cannot pass,
And He has put (C)darkness on my paths.
9 He has (D)stripped my honor from me
And removed the (E)crown from my head.
10 He (F)breaks me down on every side, and I am gone;
And He has uprooted my (G)hope (H)like a tree.
11 He has also (I)kindled His anger against me
And (J)considered me as His enemy.
12 His (K)troops come together
And (L)build up their [a]way against me
And camp around my tent.

Common English Bible
God’s treatment of Job
7 If I cry “Violence!” I’m not answered;
I shout—but there is no justice.
8 He walled up my path so I can’t pass
and put darkness on my trail,
9 stripped my honor from me,
removed the crown from my head,
10 tore me down completely so that I’ll die, and uprooted my hope like a tree.
11 His anger burns against me;
he considers me his enemy.
12 His troops come as one
and construct their siege ramp[a] against me;
they camp around my tent.
