Job 19:13-20
New International Version
13 “He has alienated my family(A) from me;
my acquaintances are completely estranged from me.(B)
14 My relatives have gone away;
my closest friends(C) have forgotten me.
15 My guests(D) and my female servants(E) count me a foreigner;
they look on me as on a stranger.
16 I summon my servant, but he does not answer,
though I beg him with my own mouth.
17 My breath is offensive to my wife;
I am loathsome(F) to my own family.
18 Even the little boys(G) scorn me;
when I appear, they ridicule me.(H)
19 All my intimate friends(I) detest me;(J)
those I love have turned against me.(K)
20 I am nothing but skin and bones;(L)
I have escaped only by the skin of my teeth.[a]

Job 19:13-20
International Standard Version
Job’s Family and Friends Abandoned Him
13 “My brothers are alienated from me;
my acquaintances are estranged;
14 my relatives have failed me;
and my friends[a] have abandoned me.
15 Those who live in my house—
and my maidservants, too!—
treat me like a stranger;
they think I’m a foreigner.
16 “I call to my servant,
but he doesn’t respond,
even though I beg to him earnestly.[b]
17 My wife says my breath stinks;
even my children say I smell bad!
18 Even little children hate me;
when I get up, they mock me.
19 My closest friends[c] detest me;
even the ones I love have turned against me.
20 I’m a pile of skin and bones;
I have barely escaped by the skin of my teeth.”
