¹⁹ He has no ^(A)posterity or progeny among his people,
    and no survivor where he used to live.

³⁰ Thus says the Lord:
“Write this man down as ^(A)childless,
    a man who shall not succeed in his days,
^(B)for none of his offspring shall succeed
    ^(C)in sitting on the throne of David
    and ruling again in Judah.”

²¹ Prepare slaughter for his sons
    ^(A)because of the guilt of their fathers,
lest they rise and possess the earth,
    and fill the face of the world with cities.”

⁸ Woe to those who ^(A)join house to house,
    who add field to field,
until there is no more room,
    and you are made to dwell alone
    in the midst of the land.
⁹ The Lord of hosts has sworn in my hearing:
^(B)“Surely many houses shall be desolate,
    large and beautiful houses, without inhabitant.

¹³ May his ^(A)posterity be cut off;
    may his ^(B)name be blotted out in the second generation!

¹⁴ If his ^(A)children are multiplied, it is for ^(B)the sword,
    and his descendants have not enough bread.
¹⁵ Those who survive him the pestilence buries,
    and his ^(C)widows do not weep.

²⁶ Utter darkness is laid up for his treasures;
    ^(A)a fire not fanned will devour him;
    what is left in his tent will be consumed.
^27 (B)The heavens will reveal his iniquity,
    and the earth will rise up against him.
²⁸ The possessions of his house will be carried away,
    dragged off in the day of God's^[a] wrath.

⁴ If your ^(A)children have sinned against him,
    he has delivered them into the hand of their transgression.
