²² For when a few years are finished,

¹⁴ If a man dies, shall he live again?
All the days of my hard service ^(A)I will wait,
Till my change comes.

^5 (A)Since his days are determined,
The number of his months is with You;
You have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass.

⁹ As the cloud disappears and vanishes away,
So ^(A)he who goes down to the grave does not come up.
¹⁰ He shall never return to his house,
^(B)Nor shall his place know him anymore.

⁵ Also they are afraid of height,
And of terrors in the way;
When the almond tree blossoms,
The grasshopper is a burden,
And desire fails.
For man goes to ^(A)his eternal home,
And ^(B)the mourners go about the streets.
