He also has taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces;
He has ^(B)set me up for His target,

What have I done to You, ^(A)O watcher of men?
Why ^(B)have You set me as Your target,
So that I am a burden ^[a]to myself?

¹¹ He has turned aside my ways and ^(A)torn me in pieces;
He has made me desolate.
¹² He has bent His bow
And ^(B)set me up as a target for the arrow.

^7 (A)When they took hold of you with the hand,
You broke and tore all their ^[a]shoulders;
When they leaned on you,
You broke and made all their backs quiver.”

¹⁹ But You have severely broken us in ^(A)the place of jackals,
And covered us ^(B)with the shadow of death.
