³⁴ For the company of hypocrites will be barren,
And fire will consume the tents of bribery.

¹³ So are the paths of all who ^(A)forget God;
And the hope of the ^(B)hypocrite shall perish,

² The ^(A)faithful^[a] man has perished from the earth,
And there is no one upright among men.
They all lie in wait for blood;
^(B)Every man hunts his brother with a net.

^11 (A)Therefore, because you ^[a]tread down the poor
And take grain ^[b]taxes from him,
Though ^(B)you have built houses of hewn stone,
Yet you shall not dwell in them;
You have planted ^[c]pleasant vineyards,
But you shall not drink wine from them.
¹² For I ^(C)know your manifold transgressions
And your mighty sins:
^(D)Afflicting the just and taking bribes;
^(E)Diverting the poor from justice at the gate.

¹² Because ^(A)I delivered the poor who cried out,
The fatherless and the one who had no helper.
¹³ The blessing of a perishing man came upon me,
And I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.
^14 (B)I put on righteousness, and it clothed me;
My justice was like a robe and a turban.
¹⁵ I was ^(C)eyes to the blind,
And I was feet to the lame.
¹⁶ I was a father to the poor,
And ^(D)I searched out the case that I did not know.
¹⁷ I broke ^(E)the fangs of the wicked,
And plucked the victim from his teeth.

^8 (A)For what is the hope of the hypocrite,
Though he may gain much,
If God takes away his life?
