Job 14:13-17
Christian Standard Bible
13 If only you would hide me in Sheol(A)
and conceal me until your anger(B) passes.
If only you would appoint a time for me
and then remember me.
14 When a person dies, will he come back to life?
If so, I would wait(C) all the days of my struggle(D)
until my relief comes.
15 You would call, and I would answer you.
You would long for the work of your hands.(E)
16 For then you would count my steps(F)
but would not take note(G) of my sin.
17 My rebellion would be sealed up in a bag,
and you would cover over my iniquity.
Job 14:13-17
Lexham English Bible
13 “O that[a] you would conceal me in Sheol,
that you would hide me until your wrath is past,[b]
that you would appoint a set time for me and remember me.
14 If a man dies, will he live again?
All the days of my compulsory service I will wait,
until the coming of my relief.
15 You would call, and I myself[c] would answer you;
you would long for the work of your hand.
16 For then[d] you would count my steps,
but you would not keep watch over my sin.
17 My transgression would be sealed in a bag,
and you would cover over my guilt.
