Job 14
Jubilee Bible 2000
14 ¶ Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.
2 He comes forth like an open flower and is cut down; he flees as a shadow and does not remain.
3 And dost thou open thine eyes upon such a one and bring me into judgment with thee?
4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one.
5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass.
6 If thou should leave him, he will cease to exist; until then, he shall desire, as a hireling, his day.
7 ¶ For there is yet hope for a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again and that its tender branch will not cease.
8 Though its root waxes old in the earth and its trunk is dead in the ground,
9 at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth boughs like a new plant.
10 But when man shall die and be cut off, and the man shall perish, where shall he be?
11 The waters from the sea went, and the river ran out, it dried up.
12 So man lies down and does not rise; until there is no heaven, they shall not awake nor be raised out of their sleep.
13 O that thou would hide me in Sheol, that thou would keep me covered until thy wrath is past, that thou would appoint me a set time and remember me!
14 If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time I will wait until my transformation comes.
15 Then thou shalt call, and I will answer thee; thou wilt have a desire towards the work of thine hands.
16 ¶ For now thou dost number my steps; thou dost not open up my sin.
17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou dost sew up my iniquity.
18 And certainly the mountain that falls is undone, and the rocks are removed out of their place.
19 The impetuous waters break the stones and wash away the dust of the earth; in like manner thou dost cause man to lose hope.
20 Thou shalt be stronger than him for ever, and he passes; thou dost change his countenance and send him away.
21 His sons shall be honoured and he shall not know of it; or they shall be afflicted, but he shall not perceive of them.
22 But while his flesh is upon him, he shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.
Job 14
King James Version
14 Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.
2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
3 And doth thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?
4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
6 Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.
7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
11 As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
16 For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.
18 And surely the mountains falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.
19 The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.
20 Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
21 His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.
22 But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.
Job 14
La Palabra (Hispanoamérica)
14 El ser humano, nacido de mujer,
es corto de días y largo de aflicciones;
2 como brote florece y se marchita,
huye como sombra pasajera.
3 ¿Y en uno así clavas los ojos
y lo llevas a juicio contigo?
4 ¡Nadie hará puro lo impuro!
5 Si sus días están ya contados,
si conoces el número de sus meses
(una frontera infranqueable),
6 deja de mirarlo y que descanse,
hasta que acabe sus días de jornalero.
7 Aunque un árbol sea talado,
tiene esperanza de retoñar,
de que no le faltarán renuevos.
8 Aunque sean viejas sus raíces soterradas,
aunque agonice su tocón en el polvo,
9 reverdece cuando siente el agua,
rebrota como una planta joven.
10 Pero el ser humano, al morir, desaparece;
cuando expira el mortal, ¿dónde está?
11 Como agua evaporada en un lago,
como río que se seca y aridece,
12 el ser humano se acuesta y no se levanta;
se desgastarán los cielos y no despertará,
nadie lo espabilará de su sueño.
13 ¡Ojalá me escondieras
pero no vigilarías mis errores;
17 meterías mis delitos en un saco
y cubrirías con cal mis fallos.
18 Como monte que se hunde erosionado,
como riscos desplazados de su sitio,
19 como agua que desgasta las rocas
y avenida que arrastra la tierra,
así destruyes la esperanza del mortal.
20 Lo destrozas para siempre y se va,
lo desfiguras y lo haces desaparecer.
21 Si prosperan sus hijos, no lo sabe;
si se hunden en la miseria, ni se entera.
22 Sólo siente su propio dolor,
lamenta sólo su existencia.
