Job 13
New Life Version
Job Talks
13 “See, my eye has seen all this. My ear has heard and understood it. 2 What you know I also know. I am not less than you.
3 “But I wish to speak to the All-powerful. I want to argue with God. 4 But you cover things with lies. You are doctors of no worth. 5 If only you would be quiet, and that would show your wisdom! 6 Hear what I think. Listen to the arguing of my lips. 7 Will you say what is not true for God? Will you lie for Him? 8 Will you show favor for Him? Will you argue for God? 9 Will it be well when He tests you? Or do you lie to Him as one lies to a man? 10 For sure He will speak strong words to you if you show favor in secret. 11 Will not His great power make you afraid? Will not the fear of Him come upon you? 12 Your wise sayings are sayings of ashes. Your strength is the strength of clay.
13 “Be quiet so that I may speak. Then let come on me what will. 14 Why should I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hands? 15 Even though He would kill me, yet I will trust in Him. I will argue my ways to His face. 16 This will save me, for a sinful man may not come to Him. 17 Be careful to listen to my words. Let what I say fill your ears. 18 See, I am ready to tell everything, and all will know I am right. 19 Who will talk against me? For then I would be quiet and die.
20 “Only two things I ask of You, and then I will not hide from Your face. 21 Take Your hand from me, and do not let the fear of You make me so afraid. 22 Then call, and I will answer. Or let me speak, and You answer me. 23 How many are my sins and wrong-doings? Help me to know my wrong-doing and sin. 24 Why do You hide Your face, and think of me as one who hates You? 25 Will You make a wind-blown leaf afraid? Will You go after the dry parts of a grain-field that have no worth? 26 For You write bitter things against me. You punish me for the sins I did when I was young. 27 You put chains on my feet, and watch everything I do. You let me walk only so far. 28 I am wasting away like a piece of dead wood, like clothing eaten by the moth.
Job 13
Palabra de Dios para Todos
13 »En verdad mis ojos han visto todo eso;
lo he escuchado antes y lo comprendo.
2 Conozco tanto como ustedes,
no soy menos que ustedes.
3 Pero quisiera hablar con el Todopoderoso,
prefiero discutir de estos asuntos con Dios.
4 Es que ustedes son unos charlatanes;
13 Cállense y déjenme hablar;
18 He preparado muy bien mi defensa.
Estoy convencido de mi inocencia y sé que seré absuelto.
19 ¿Quién tiene de qué acusarme?
Porque siendo así, yo callaría y moriría.
20 No obstante, dos favores te pido
y así no me esconderé de ti.
21 Deja de aplastarme;
no me atemorices más.
22 Háblame y yo te responderé,
o deja que yo te hable y respóndeme.
23 ¿Cuáles son mis pecados y mis crímenes?
¿Dame a conocer mi error y mi pecado?
27 Has puesto cadenas en mis pies
y restringes todos mis movimientos.
Sigues todas mis huellas.
28 Soy un hombre que se deshace como algo que se va pudriendo;
como ropa comida por la polilla.
Job 13
Darby Translation
13 Lo, mine eye hath seen all [this], mine ear hath heard and understood it.
2 What ye know, I know also: I am not inferior to you.
3 But I will speak to the Almighty, and will find pleasure in reasoning with God;
4 For ye indeed are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.
5 Oh that ye would be altogether silent! and it would be your wisdom.
6 Hear now my defence, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.
7 Will ye speak unrighteously for God? and for him speak deceit?
8 Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God?
9 Will it be well if he should search you out? or as one mocketh at a man, will ye mock at him?
10 He will certainly reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.
11 Shall not his excellency terrify you? and his dread fall upon you?
12 Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes, your bulwarks are bulwarks of mire.
13 Hold your peace from me, and I will speak, and let come on me what [will]!
14 Wherefore should I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hand?
15 Behold, if he slay me, yet would I trust in him; but I will defend mine own ways before him.
16 This also shall be my salvation, that a profane man shall not come before his face.
17 Hear attentively my speech and my declaration with your ears.
18 Behold now, I have ordered the cause; I know that I shall be justified.
19 Who is he that contendeth with me? For if I were silent now, I should expire.
20 Only do not two things unto me; then will I not hide myself from thee.
21 Withdraw thy hand far from me; and let not thy terror make me afraid:
22 Then call, and I will answer; or I will speak, and answer thou me.
23 How many are mine iniquities and sins? Make me to know my transgression and my sin.
24 Wherefore dost thou hide thy face, and countest me for thine enemy?
25 Wilt thou terrify a driven leaf? and wilt thou pursue dry stubble?
26 For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth;
27 And thou puttest my feet in the stocks, and markest all my paths; thou settest a bound about the soles of my feet;—
28 One who, as a rotten thing consumeth, as a garment that the moth eateth.
