^22 (A)Then call, and I will answer;
    or let me speak, and you reply to me.

³ If one wished to ^(A)contend with him,
    one could not answer him once in a thousand times.

^2 (A)Hear, you mountains, ^(B)the indictment of the Lord,
    and you enduring foundations of the earth,
for the Lord has an indictment against his people,
    and he will contend with Israel.

12 ^(A)Righteous are you, O Lord,
    when I complain to you;
    yet I would plead my case before you.
^(B)Why does the way of the wicked prosper?
    Why do all ^(C)who are treacherous thrive?
² You plant them, and they take root;
    they grow and produce fruit;
^(D)you are near in their mouth
    and far from their heart.

³ Oh, ^(A)that I knew where I might find him,
    that I might come even to his ^(B)seat!
⁴ I would ^(C)lay my case before him
    and fill my mouth with arguments.
⁵ I would know what he would answer me
    and understand what he would say to me.
⁶ Would he ^(D)contend with me in the greatness of his power?
    No; he would pay attention to me.
⁷ There an upright man could argue with him,
    and I would be acquitted forever by my judge.
