³ Bear with me that I may speak,
And after I have spoken, keep ^(A)mocking.

⁵ Oh, that you would be silent,
And ^(A)it would be your wisdom!

10 “My ^(A)soul loathes my life;
I will ^[a]give free course to my complaint,
^(B)I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

¹⁵ So that my soul chooses strangling
And death rather than ^[a]my body.
^16 (A)I loathe my life;
I would not live forever.
^(B)Let me alone,
For ^(C)my days are but ^[b]a breath.

⁹ That it would please God to crush me,
That He would loose His hand and ^(A)cut me off!
¹⁰ Then I would still have comfort;
Though in anguish I would exult,
He will not spare;
For ^(B)I have not concealed the words of ^(C)the Holy One.
