11 Habló entonces Sofar el naamatita:
2 «El que habla mucho, ¿no debe escuchar?
¿Se declara inocente al parlanchín?
3 ¿Vas a engañarnos con tus embustes?
¿Te burlas de nosotros sin que nadie te responda?
4 Tú afirmas: “Lo que digo es la verdad.
No tenga nada de qué avergonzarme.”
5 ¡Cómo quisiera yo que Dios hablara
y que con sus propios labios te acusara;
6 que te revelara los secretos de la sabiduría,
y te hiciera ver el otro lado de la moneda!
Verías entonces que Dios no te ha castigado
como realmente lo merece tu maldad.
7 »¿Puedes descubrir los secretos de Dios?
¿Puedes ser tan perfecto como el Todopoderoso?
8 ¿Cómo podrías, si están por encima de los cielos?
¿Cómo podrías, si son más profundos que el sepulcro?
9 ¡Son más extensos que la tierra!
¡son más vastos que el ancho mar!
10 Si Dios te aprehende, y te llama a cuentas,
no podrás hacerlo desistir.
11 Dios sabe cuando la gente es falsa;
se da cuenta cuando la gente actúa mal.
12 ¿Sabes cuándo el necio llegará a ser sabio?
¡Cuando de un asno montés nazca un hombre!
13 »Si de todo corazón elevas tus manos,
y te dispones a rogarle a Dios;
14 y si te arrepientes de toda maldad,
y alejas de tu casa la iniquidad,
15 podrás levantar la cara limpia de pecado,
y podrás sentirte libre y sin ningún temor;
16 te olvidarás de tus tristezas,
o pensarás en ellas como el agua que pasa.
17 Tu vida será más clara que la luz del mediodía,
y aun la oscuridad será como el amanecer.
18 Volverás a confiar porque tendrás esperanza;
y rodeado de paz podrás dormir tranquilo.
19 Nada podrá perturbar tu sueño;
y muchos te buscarán para pedir tu favor.
20 Pero los malvados irán perdiendo la vista,
y no hallarán un lugar de refugio;
sólo desearán exhalar el último suspiro.»

11 拿玛人琐法回答说：
2 “难道滔滔不绝就无人反驳？
难道唠唠叨叨就证明有理？
3 你喋喋不休，人们岂能缄默不言？
你嘲笑讥讽，岂不该有人使你羞愧？
4 你自以为信仰纯全，
在上帝眼中清白。
5 唯愿上帝发言，
开口驳斥你，
6 告诉你智慧的奥秘，
因为真智慧深奥难懂。
要知道，上帝对你的惩罚比你该受的还轻。
7 “你能测度上帝的深奥，
探索全能者的极限吗？
8 那可比诸天还高，你能做什么？
那可比阴间还深，你能知道什么？
9 那可比大地还宽广，
比海洋还辽阔。
10 祂若来囚禁你，
开庭审判，
谁能阻拦？
11 祂洞悉诡诈之人，
看见罪恶，
岂会不理？
12 愚蠢人若能变得聪明，
野驴驹也可生成人样。
13 “你若把心安正，
向祂举手祷告；
14 你若除去自己的罪恶，
不容帐篷里有任何不义，
15 就必能无愧地仰起脸，
站立得稳，无所畏惧。
16 你必忘记自己的苦楚，
它从你记忆中如流水逝去。
17 你的人生将比正午还光明，
生命中的黑暗也必像黎明。
18 你必充满盼望，感到安稳，
你必得到保护，安然入睡。
19 你睡觉时必无人惊扰，

Zophar Talks
11 Then Zophar the Naamathite answered, 2 “Should many words go without an answer? Should a man full of talk be said to be without blame? 3 Should your words of pride make men quiet? Should you make fun of truth and no one speak sharp words to you? 4 For you say, ‘What I believe is pure. I am without fault in Your eyes.’ 5 If only God would speak, and open His lips against you. 6 He would show you the secrets of wisdom because there are two sides. Then you would know that God is punishing you less than you should get.
7 “Can you find out the deep things of God? Can you find out how far the All-powerful can go? 8 They are higher than the heavens. What can you do? They are deeper than the place of the dead. What can you know? 9 They are longer than the earth and wider than the sea. 10 If He passes by, puts a man in prison, or calls him to trial, who can stop Him? 11 For He knows men who are no good. When He sees wrong-doing, will He not look into it? 12 A fool cannot become wise anymore than a wild donkey can give birth to a man.
13 “If you set your heart right, and put out your hands to Him, 14 and if you put away the sin that is in your hand, do not let wrong-doing be in your tents. 15 Then you will be able to lift up your face without sin. You would be strong and not afraid. 16 For you would forget your trouble, remembering it as waters that have passed by. 17 Your life would be brighter than noon. Darkness would be like the morning. 18 Then you would trust, because there is hope. You would look around and rest and be safe. 19 You would lie down and no one would make you afraid. Many would ask for your favor. 20 But the eyes of the sinful will waste away. There will be no way for them to get away. And their hope is to breathe their last.”

11 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
2 Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?
3 Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?
4 For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.
5 But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;
6 And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.
7 Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?
8 It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?
9 The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
10 If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?
11 For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?
12 For vain men would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt.
13 If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;
14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
16 Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:
17 And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.
18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.
19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.
20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.
