⁹ “Does Job fear God for nothing?”^(A) Satan replied. ¹⁰ “Have you not put a hedge^(B) around him and his household and everything he has?^(C) You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.^(D)

¹⁵ Yet these men were very good to us. They did not mistreat^(A) us, and the whole time we were out in the fields near them nothing was missing.^{(B) 16} Night and day they were a wall^(C) around us the whole time we were herding our sheep near them.

¹¹ Then Peter came to himself^(A) and said, “Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me^(B) from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.”

⁵ and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth^(A) and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.
