⁷ The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From ^(A)going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.”

^8 (A)Be sober-minded; ^(B)be watchful. Your ^(C)adversary the devil ^(D)prowls around ^(E)like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

² And the Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.”

Return of an Unclean Spirit

⁴³ “When ^(A)the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through ^(B)waterless places seeking rest, but finds none.

⁸ and will come out ^(A)to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, ^(B)Gog and Magog, ^(C)to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea.

¹² Therefore, ^(A)rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But ^(B)woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because ^(C)he knows that his time is short!”

¹³ And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued ^(D)the woman who had given birth to the male child. ¹⁴ But the woman was given the two ^(E)wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent ^(F)into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished ^(G)for a time, and times, and half a time. ¹⁵ The serpent poured water ^(H)like a river out of his mouth after the woman, to sweep her away with a flood. ¹⁶ But the earth came to the help of the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river that the dragon had poured from his mouth. ¹⁷ Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off ^(I)to make war on the rest of ^(J)her offspring, ^(K)on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to ^(L)the testimony of Jesus. And he stood^[a] on the sand of the sea.

²⁵ He went in and stood before his master, and Elisha said to him, “Where have you been, Gehazi?” And he said, “Your servant went nowhere.”

⁹ And ^(A)the great dragon was thrown down, ^(B)that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, ^(C)the deceiver of the whole world—^(D)he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

⁷ When the strong horses came out, they were impatient to go and ^(A)patrol the earth. And he said, “Go, ^(B)patrol the earth.” ^(C)So they patrolled the earth.
