14-15 Llegó corriendo a casa de Job un mensajero con esta noticia:
―Estaban sus bueyes arando, y las burras pastaban junto a ellos, cuando nos asaltaron los sabeanos, se llevaron los animales y mataron a los demás siervos. ¡Sólo yo escapé!
16 Aún estaba hablando este mensajero, cuando llegó otro con más noticias malas: —Del cielo cayó un rayo que calcinó a las ovejas y a todos los criados. ¡Sólo yo escapé para contárselo!
17 No había terminado este, cuando otro mensajero entró corriendo.
―Tres bandas de caldeos se llevaron sus camellos y mataron a sus siervos. ¡Sólo yo escapé para contárselo!

15 “and the Sabeans came violently and took them. Indeed, they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword. But only I have escaped, alone, to tell you.”
16 And while he was still speaking, another came, and said, “The fire of God has fallen from the sky and has burnt up the sheep and the servants and devoured them. But only I have escaped, alone, to tell you.”
17 And while he was still speaking, another came, and said, “The Chaldeans appointed three bands and attacked the camels, and have taken them, and have killed the servants with the edge of the sword. But only I have escaped, alone, to tell you.”

15 and the Sabeans(A) attacked and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”
16 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “The fire of God fell from the heavens(B) and burned up the sheep and the servants,(C) and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”
17 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “The Chaldeans(D) formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”
