¹⁵ and the Sabeans^(A) attacked and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”

⁸ I will sell your sons^(A) and daughters to the people of Judah,^(B) and they will sell them to the Sabeans,^(C) a nation far away.” The Lord has spoken.^(D)

⁴² “The noise of a carefree^(A) crowd was around her; drunkards^(B) were brought from the desert along with men from the rabble, and they put bracelets^(C) on the wrists of the woman and her sister and beautiful crowns on their heads.^(D)

¹⁴ This is what the Lord says:

¹⁹ when suddenly a mighty wind^(A) swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead,^(B) and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!^(C)”

¹⁶ While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “The fire of God fell from the heavens^(A) and burned up the sheep and the servants,^(B) and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”

¹⁷ While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “The Chaldeans^(C) formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”
