¹¹ But ^(A)stretch out your hand and ^(B)touch all that he has, and he will ^(C)curse you ^(D)to your face.”

⁵ But ^(A)stretch out your hand and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will ^(B)curse you to your face.”

¹¹ and cursed ^(A)the God of heaven for their pain and ^(B)sores. ^(C)They did not repent of their deeds.

²¹ And ^(A)great hailstones, about one hundred pounds^[a] each, fell from heaven on people; and ^(B)they cursed God for ^(C)the plague of the hail, because the plague was so severe.

⁹ They were scorched by the fierce heat, and ^(A)they cursed^[a] the name of God who had power over these plagues. ^(B)They did not repent ^(C)and give him glory.

^13 (A)“Your words have been hard against me, says the Lord. ^(B)But you say, ‘How have we spoken against you?’ ¹⁴ You have said, ^(C)‘It is vain to serve God. ^(D)What is the profit of our keeping his charge or of walking as in mourning before the Lord of hosts?

⁸ For thus said the Lord of hosts, after his glory sent me^[a] to the nations who plundered you, ^(A)for he who touches you touches ^(B)the apple of his eye:

²¹ They will pass through the land,^[a] greatly distressed and hungry. And when they are hungry, they will be enraged and will speak contemptuously against^[b] their king and their God, and turn their faces upward.
