²¹ “Although I am blameless,^(A)
    I have no concern for myself;^(B)
    I despise my own life.^(C)

⁷ though you know that I am not guilty^(A)
    and that no one can rescue me from your hand?^(B)

⁴ You say to God, ‘My beliefs are flawless^(A)
    and I am pure^(B) in your sight.’

⁴ “I have become a laughingstock^(A) to my friends,^(B)
    though I called on God and he answered^(C)—
    a mere laughingstock, though righteous and blameless!^(D)

¹⁸ Now that I have prepared my case,^(A)
    I know I will be vindicated.^(B)

¹⁷ yet my hands have been free of violence^(A)
    and my prayer is pure.^(B)

¹⁰ But he knows the way that I take;^(A)
    when he has tested me,^(B) I will come forth as gold.^(C)
11 My feet have closely followed his steps;^(D)
    I have kept to his way without turning aside.^(E)

⁵ I will never admit you are in the right;
    till I die, I will not deny my integrity.^(A)

    justice was my robe and my turban.^(B)
