    and a path for the thunderstorm,^(B)

³ The voice^(A) of the Lord is over the waters;
    the God of glory^(B) thunders,^(C)
    the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.^(D)
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful;^(E)
    the voice of the Lord is majestic.
⁵ The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
    the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.^(F)
6 He makes Lebanon leap^(G) like a calf,
    Sirion^[a](H) like a young wild ox.^(I)
7 The voice of the Lord strikes
    with flashes of lightning.^(J)
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
    the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.^(K)
9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks^[b](L)
    and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”^(M)

¹⁰ The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;^(N)
    the Lord is enthroned as King forever.^(O)

³ He unleashes his lightning^(A) beneath the whole heaven
    and sends it to the ends of the earth.^(B)
4 After that comes the sound of his roar;
    he thunders^(C) with his majestic voice.^(D)
When his voice resounds,
    he holds nothing back.
⁵ God’s voice thunders^(E) in marvelous ways;^(F)
    he does great things beyond our understanding.^(G)
6 He says to the snow,^(H) ‘Fall on the earth,’
    and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’^(I)
