Job 34:5-9
New American Standard Bible
5 For Job has said, ‘(A)I am righteous,
But (B)God has taken away my right;
6 [a]Should I lie about my right?
My [b](C)wound is incurable, though I am without wrongdoing.’
7 What man is like Job,
Who (D)drinks up derision like water,
8 Who goes (E)in company with the workers of injustice,
And walks with wicked people?
9 For he has said, ‘(F)It is of no use to a man
When he becomes friends with God.’
Job 34:5-9
English Standard Version
5 For Job has said, ‘I am (A)in the right,
and (B)God has taken away my right;
6 in spite of my right I am counted a liar;
my wound is incurable, though I am (C)without transgression.’
7 What man is like Job,
who (D)drinks up scoffing like water,
8 who travels in company with evildoers
and walks (E)with wicked men?
9 For (F)he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing
that he should take delight in God.’
Job 34:5-9
New International Version
5 “Job says, ‘I am innocent,(A)
but God denies me justice.(B)
6 Although I am right,
I am considered a liar;(C)
although I am guiltless,(D)
his arrow inflicts an incurable wound.’(E)
7 Is there anyone like Job,
who drinks scorn like water?(F)
8 He keeps company with evildoers;
he associates with the wicked.(G)
9 For he says, ‘There is no profit
in trying to please God.’(H)
