²⁶ He regarded disgrace^(A) for the sake of Christ^(B) as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.^(C)

² For since the message spoken^(A) through angels^(B) was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment,^(C)

⁶ God is just:^(A) He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you^{(B) 7} and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven^(C) in blazing fire^(D) with his powerful angels.^(E)

²⁰ But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God?^(A) “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it,^(B) ‘Why did you make me like this?’”^[a](C)

¹² ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat^(A) of the day.’

¹³ “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend.^(B) Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? ¹⁴ Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. ¹⁵ Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’^(C)
