¹⁰ Yet God has found fault with me;

25 Will you torment^(C) a windblown leaf?^(D)
    Will you chase^(E) after dry chaff?^(F)

⁵ “Job says, ‘I am innocent,^(A)
    but God denies me justice.^(B)

³⁵ (“Oh, that I had someone to hear me!^(A)
    I sign now my defense—let the Almighty answer me;
    let my accuser^(B) put his indictment in writing.

²¹ You turn on me ruthlessly;^(A)
    with the might of your hand^(B) you attack me.^(C)

⁹ God assails me and tears^(A) me in his anger^(B)
    and gnashes his teeth at me;^(C)
    my opponent fastens on me his piercing eyes.^(D)

¹⁶ Surely then you will count my steps^(A)
    but not keep track of my sin.^(B)

¹⁵ If I am guilty^(A)—woe to me!^(B)
    Even if I am innocent, I cannot lift my head,^(C)
for I am full of shame
    and drowned in^[a] my affliction.^(D)
16 If I hold my head high, you stalk me like a lion^(E)
    and again display your awesome power against me.^(F)
17 You bring new witnesses against me^(G)
    and increase your anger toward me;^(H)
    your forces come against me wave upon wave.^(I)
