Job 31:34-37
English Standard Version
34 because I stood in great fear of (A)the multitude,
and the contempt of families terrified me,
so that I kept silence, and did not go out of doors—
35 Oh, that I had one to hear me!
(Here is my signature! Let the Almighty (B)answer me!)
Oh, that I had (C)the indictment written by my adversary!
36 Surely I would carry it on my (D)shoulder;
I would (E)bind it on me as (F)a crown;
37 I would give him an account of all my steps;
like a prince I would approach him.
Job 31:34-37
New International Version
34 because I so feared the crowd(A)
and so dreaded the contempt of the clans
that I kept silent(B) and would not go outside—
35 (“Oh, that I had someone to hear me!(C)
I sign now my defense—let the Almighty answer me;
let my accuser(D) put his indictment in writing.
36 Surely I would wear it on my shoulder,(E)
I would put it on like a crown.(F)
37 I would give him an account of my every step;(G)
I would present it to him as to a ruler.(H))—
