the doors of my mother’s womb,
and hide sorrow from my eyes.

¹⁷ You produce new witnesses^[a] against me
and multiply Your anger toward me.
Hardships assault me, wave after wave.^[b]

so that my mother might have been my grave,
her womb eternally pregnant.

to end my life in shame?
