The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From (A)going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you (B)considered my (C)servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, (D)a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? 10 Have you not put (E)a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have (F)blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11 But (G)stretch out your hand and (H)touch all that he has, and he will (I)curse you (J)to your face.”

The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”(A)

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job?(B) There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God(C) and shuns evil.”(D)

“Does Job fear God for nothing?”(E) Satan replied. 10 “Have you not put a hedge(F) around him and his household and everything he has?(G) You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.(H) 11 But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has,(I) and he will surely curse you to your face.”(J)
