¹⁵so that everyone who believes in him may^[a] have eternal life.^(A) ¹⁶For God loved^(B) the world in this way:^[b] He gave^[c] his one and only^(C) Son,^(D) so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.^(E)
