Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

¹⁶ And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another ^[a](A)Advocate, that He may be with you forever; ^17 (B)the Spirit of truth, ^(C)whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him. You know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

²⁶ “When the ^[a](A)Advocate comes, ^(B)whom I will send to you from the Father, ^(C)the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, ^(D)He will bear witness about Me,

⁹ However, you are not ^(A)in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God ^(B)dwells in you. But ^(C)if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. ^10 (D)But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is ^[a]alive because of righteousness.
