John 19:34-37

34 howbeit one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and straightway there came out blood and water. 35 And he that hath seen hath borne witness, and his witness is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye also may believe. 36 For these things came to pass, [a]that the scripture might be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be [b]broken. 37 And again another scripture saith, [c]They shall look on him whom they pierced.

34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced(A) Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.(B) 35 The man who saw it(C) has given testimony, and his testimony is true.(D) He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. 36 These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled:(E) “Not one of his bones will be broken,”[a](F) 37 and, as another scripture says, “They will look on the one they have pierced.”[b](G)
