Domsord över ogudaktigheten
8 Ve er som lägger hus till hus
och fogar åker till åker,
till dess inget utrymme längre finns
och ni är de enda som bor i landet.
9 Från Herren Sebaot ljuder det i mina öron:
Sannerligen, många hus skall bli öde,
stora och vackra hus utan invånare.
10 En vingård på tio plogland[a]
skall ge endast ett batmått,
och en homers utsäde skall ge endast en efa.

Six Sins Condemned
8 How horrible it will be for you
who acquire house after house and buy field after field
until there’s nothing left
and you have to live by yourself in the land.
9 With my own ears I heard the Lord of Armies say,
“Many houses will become empty.
Large, beautiful houses will be without people to live in them.
10 A ten-acre vineyard will produce only six gallons of wine,
and two quarts of seed will produce only four quarts of grain.”
