Koresh som Guds verktyg
45 Så säger Herren till sin smorde,
till Koresh som jag har fattat vid hans högra hand
för att slå ner folken inför honom,
lossa bältet från kungars höfter
och öppna dörrar för honom,
så att inga portar mer är stängda:
2 Själv skall jag gå framför dig,
höjderna[a] skall jag jämna ut.
Kopparportarna skall jag spränga
och järnbommarna skall jag bryta sönder.
3 Jag skall ge dig skatter som är dolda i mörkret
och hemliga rikedomar,
för att du skall inse att jag är Herren,
som kallar dig vid ditt namn,
jag, Israels Gud.
4 För min tjänare Jakobs skull,
för Israels skull, min utvalde,
kallade jag dig vid namn.
Jag gav dig ett ärenamn,
fastän du inte kände mig.
5 Jag är Herren
och det finns ingen annan.
Utom mig finns ingen Gud.
Jag spände bältet om ditt liv,
fastän du inte kände mig,
6 för att man skulle förstå
både i öster och väster
att det inte finns någon utom mig.
Jag är Herren och det finns ingen annan.
7 Jag danar ljuset och skapar mörkret,
jag ger lycka och skapar olycka.
Jag, Herren, gör allt detta.
8 Låt det drypa från ovan, ni himlar,
må rättfärdighet strömma ner från skyarna.
Må jorden öppna sig och ge frälsning som frukt,
ja, må den låta rättfärdighet växa upp.
Jag, Herren, skapar detta.
Blindhet för Skaparens storhet och makt
9 Ve den som tvistar med sin Skapare,
- du, en lerskärva bland jordens lerskärvor!
Säger leret till den som formar det:
"Vad gör du?"
Säger ditt verk:
"Han har inga händer"?
10 Ve den som säger till en far:
"Vad avlar du?"
och till en kvinna:
"Vad föder du fram?"
11 Så säger Herren,
Israels Helige, som också är hans Skapare:
Fråga mig om det som skall komma.
Låt mig ha omsorg
om mina söner och mina händers verk.
12 Det är jag som har gjort jorden
och skapat människorna på den.
Det är mina händer som har spänt ut himlen,
och hela dess här har jag givit befallning.
13 Det är jag som har uppväckt honom
och alla hans vägar skall jag göra jämna.
Han skall bygga upp min stad och släppa mina fångar fria,
men inte för betalning eller mutor,
säger Herren Sebaot.
14 Så säger Herren:
Vad egyptierna har skaffat sig genom arbete
och nubiernas och Sebas resliga folk med handel,
det skall allt gå över i din hand och höra till dig.
De skall följa efter dig, i kedjor skall de gå.
Och de skall falla ner inför dig och rikta sin bön till dig:
"Endast hos dig är Gud, och det finns ingen mer,
ingen annan Gud."
15 Du är sannerligen en Gud som döljer sig,
du Israels Gud, du Frälsare.
16 De kommer alla på skam och måste blygas,
alla avgudamakarna måste skämmas.
17 Men Israel blir frälst genom Herren
med en evig frälsning.
Aldrig i evighet skall ni komma på skam
och behöva blygas.
18 Ty så säger Herren,
han som har skapat himlen,
han som ensam är Gud,
som har format jorden och gjort den.
Han som har berett den
har inte skapat den till att vara öde
utan format den till att bebos:
Jag är Herren, och det finns ingen annan.
19 I hemlighet har jag inte talat
på en mörk plats på jorden.
Jag har inte sagt till Jakobs avkomlingar:
"Förgäves skall ni söka mig."
- Jag är Herren, som talar sanning
och förkunnar vad som är rätt.
20 Samla er då och kom hit,
träd fram ni
som räddats från folken.
De har inget förstånd,
de som bär omkring sina träbeläten
och ber till en gud som inte kan frälsa.
21 Tag till orda och lägg fram er sak!
Ja, låt dem tillsammans rådslå.
Vem har sedan lång tid låtit er höra detta
och för längesedan förkunnat det?
Har inte jag, Herren, gjort det?
Och det finns ingen Gud utom mig,
jag, en rättfärdig Gud som frälsar,
ingen utom mig.
22 Vänd er till mig och bli frälsta,
ni jordens alla ändar,
ty jag är Gud och det finns ingen annan.
23 Jag har svurit vid mig själv,
ett sanningsord har utgått från min mun,
ett ord som inte skall tas tillbaka:
För mig skall alla knän böja sig.
Alla tungor skall ge mig sin ed
24 och säga om mig:
Endast i Herren är rättfärdighet och styrka.
Till honom skall man komma,
och alla som varit förbittrade på honom skall blygas.
25 I Herren skall hela Israels släkt ha sin rättfärdighet,
de skall berömma sig av honom.

Det finns ingen annan Gud
45 Detta är Herrens budskap till Kores, Guds smorde, som han har utvalt till att besegra många länder. Gud ska ge hans högra hand en väldig styrka, så att han ska kunna krossa mäktiga regenter. Gud ska öppna portar för honom, som aldrig mer ska stängas.
2 Jag ska gå före dig, Kores, och jämna ut höjderna och krossa städernas kopparportar och järnbommar.
3 Jag ska ge dig skatter som ligger gömda i mörkret. Jag ska ge dig hemliga rikedomar, och du ska förstå att det är jag som gör detta, jag, Herren, Israels Gud, som kallar dig vid ditt namn.
4 Varför valde jag dig för den här uppgiften? Jo, för min tjänare Jakobs skull, för Israels, mitt utvalda folks skull. Jag kallade dig vid namn och har gett dig en upphöjd position, men du känner mig inte.
5 Jag är Herren. Det finns ingen annan Gud. Jag ska styrka dig och sända ut dig till seger, fastän du inte känner mig,
6 och hela världen från öster till väster ska förstå att det inte finns någon annan Gud. Jag är Herren, och det finns ingen annan. Jag ensam är Gud.
7 Jag skapar både ljus och mörker. Jag sänder både goda och dåliga tider. Det är jag, Herren, som gör allt sådant.
8 Öppna er, ni himlar! Låt skyarna tömma ut sin rättfärdighet över en vidöppen jord! Låt frälsning och rättfärdighet växa upp tillsammans. Jag, Herren, är den som skapat allt detta.
9 Ve den man som kämpar mot sin Skapare, den som bara är en av många krukskärvor utströdda på marken. Inte säger väl leran till den som formar den: Stopp där, nu gör du fel! Inte klagar krukan och säger: Så klumpigt du bär dig åt!
10 Ve det nyfödda barn som skriker till sina föräldrar: Varför satte ni mig till världen?
11 Herren, den Helige i Israel, han som skapat Israel, säger: Vad har du för rätt att ifrågasätta det jag gör? Vem är du, som försöker påverka vad jag ska göra med mina händer?
12 Jag har gjort jorden och skapat människan att befolka den. Med mina händer har jag utbrett himlarna och strött ut myriader av stjärnor.
13 Jag har låtit Kores uppstå för att fullborda vad jag i min rättfärdighet planerat, och jag ska leda hans väg. Han ska upprätta min stad och befria mitt fångna folk, och det utan att få lön för det!
14 Herren säger: Egyptierna, etiopierna och folket från Seba ska lyda under dig. De ska komma till dig med alla sina varor, och det ska bli ditt alltsammans. De ska följa dig som fångar i kedjor och falla ner inför dig och säga: Den ende Gud som finns, det är din Gud!
15 Du Israels Gud och Frälsare utför dina gärningar på ett sätt som vi inte riktigt kan förstå.
16 Alla som tillber avgudar kommer att bli besvikna och skämmas.
17 Men Israel kommer att räddas av Herren med en evig frälsning. Det kommer aldrig någonsin att bli besviket på sin Gud.
18 Herren som skapade himlarna och jorden och satte allt på dess rätta plats, han som gjorde världen sådan att man kunde bo på den och inte till ett tomt kaos, han säger: Jag är Herren, och det finns ingen annan.
19 Jag har inte gett mina löften i hemlighet som från ett land i mörker, så att ingen kan förstå vad jag menar. Jag har inte heller uppmanat Israel att be om någonting som jag inte tänkt göra! Nej, jag, Herren, talar bara det som är rätt och sanning.
20 Kom hit, ni alla folk, som är på flykt! Vilka dårar ni är, som bär omkring trägudar och ber till något som inte kan hjälpa er!
21 Rådgör med varandra och försök bevisa att avgudadyrkan lönar sig! Vem annan än Herren har förutsagt vad som kommer att ske? Vilken avgudabild har någonsin kunnat berätta något för er? Det finns ingen annan Gud än jag, en rättvis Gud och en Frälsare!
22 Låt hela världen söka mig till frälsning! För jag är Gud, och det finns ingen annan.
23 Jag har gett löften, och jag kommer aldrig att ta tillbaka mina ord. Alla knän i hela världen ska böja sig för mig, och alla tungor ska svära trohet mot mitt namn.
24 I Herren har jag all min rättfärdighet och styrka, ska man säga. Alla som har stått emot honom måste böja sig i ödmjukhet.
25 I Herren ska alla generationer i Israel triumfera och få sin rätt.

45 Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
4 For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
5 I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.
7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.
8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the Lord have created it.
9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?
10 Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth?
11 Thus saith the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me.
12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.
13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the Lord of hosts.
14 Thus saith the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God.
15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour.
16 They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.
17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.
18 For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else.
19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.
20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save.
21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the Lord? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.
24 Surely, shall one say, in the Lord have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

45 “Thus says the Lord to His anointed,

(C)To subdue nations before him
And (D)loose the armor of kings,
To open before him the double doors,
So that the gates will not be shut:
2 ‘I will go before you
(E)And[b] make the [c]crooked places straight;
(F)I will break in pieces the gates of bronze
And cut the bars of iron.
3 I will give you the treasures of darkness
And hidden riches of secret places,
(G)That you may know that I, the Lord,
Who (H)call you by your name,
Am the God of Israel.
4 For (I)Jacob My servant’s sake,
And Israel My elect,
I have even called you by your name;
I have named you, though you have not known Me.

The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker:
(S)“Ask Me of things to come concerning (T)My sons;
And concerning (U)the work of My hands, you command Me.
12 (V)I have made the earth,
And (W)created man on it.
I—My hands—stretched out the heavens,
And (X)all their host I have commanded.
13 (Y)I have raised him up in righteousness,
And I will [d]direct all his ways;
He shall (Z)build My city
And let My exiles go free,
(AA)Not for price nor reward,”
Says the Lord of hosts.
The Lord, the Only Savior
14 Thus says the Lord:
(AB)“The labor of Egypt and merchandise of Cush
And of the Sabeans, men of stature,
Shall come over to you, and they shall be yours;
They shall walk behind you,
They shall come over (AC)in chains;
And they shall bow down to you.
They will make supplication to you, saying, (AD)‘Surely God is in you,
And there is no other;
(AE)There is no other God.’ ”
15 Truly You are God, (AF)who hide Yourself,
O God of Israel, the Savior!
16 They shall be (AG)ashamed
And also disgraced, all of them;
They shall go in confusion together,
Who are makers of idols.
17 (AH)But Israel shall be saved by the Lord
With an (AI)everlasting salvation;
You shall not be ashamed or (AJ)disgraced
Forever and ever.
18 For thus says the Lord,
(AK)Who created the heavens,
Who is God,
Who formed the earth and made it,
Who has established it,
Who did not create it [e]in vain,
Who formed it to be (AL)inhabited:
(AM)“I am the Lord, and there is no other.
19 I have not spoken in (AN)secret,
In a dark place of the earth;

To Him men shall come,

to Cyrus,(B) whose right hand I take hold(C) of
to subdue nations(D) before him
and to strip kings of their armor,
to open doors before him
so that gates will not be shut:
2 I will go before you(E)
and will level(F) the mountains[a];
I will break down gates(G) of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.(H)
3 I will give you hidden treasures,(I)
riches stored in secret places,(J)
so that you may know(K) that I am the Lord,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.(L)
4 For the sake of Jacob my servant,(M)
of Israel my chosen,
I summon you by name
and bestow on you a title of honor,
though you do not acknowledge(N) me.
5 I am the Lord, and there is no other;(O)
apart from me there is no God.(P)
I will strengthen you,(Q)
though you have not acknowledged me,
6 so that from the rising of the sun
to the place of its setting(R)
people may know(S) there is none besides me.(T)
I am the Lord, and there is no other.

I bring prosperity and create disaster;(V)
I, the Lord, do all these things.
8 “You heavens above, rain(W) down my righteousness;(X)
let the clouds shower it down.
Let the earth open wide,
let salvation(Y) spring up,
let righteousness flourish with it;
I, the Lord, have created it.
9 “Woe to those who quarrel(Z) with their Maker,(AA)
those who are nothing but potsherds(AB)
among the potsherds on the ground.
Does the clay say to the potter,(AC)
‘What are you making?’(AD)
Does your work say,
‘The potter has no hands’?(AE)
10 Woe to the one who says to a father,
‘What have you begotten?’
or to a mother,
‘What have you brought to birth?’
11 “This is what the Lord says—
the Holy One(AF) of Israel, and its Maker:(AG)
Concerning things to come,
do you question me about my children,
or give me orders about the work of my hands?(AH)
12 It is I who made the earth(AI)
and created mankind on it.
My own hands stretched out the heavens;(AJ)
I marshaled their starry hosts.(AK)
13 I will raise up Cyrus[b](AL) in my righteousness:
I will make all his ways straight.(AM)
He will rebuild my city(AN)
and set my exiles free,
but not for a price or reward,(AO)
says the Lord Almighty.”
14 This is what the Lord says:
“The products(AP) of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush,[c]
and those tall Sabeans(AQ)—
they will come over to you(AR)
and will be yours;
they will trudge behind you,(AS)
coming over to you in chains.(AT)
They will bow down before you
and plead(AU) with you, saying,
‘Surely God is with you,(AV) and there is no other;
there is no other god.(AW)’”
15 Truly you are a God who has been hiding(AX) himself,
the God and Savior(AY) of Israel.
16 All the makers of idols will be put to shame and disgraced;(AZ)
they will go off into disgrace together.
17 But Israel will be saved(BA) by the Lord
with an everlasting salvation;(BB)
you will never be put to shame or disgraced,(BC)
to ages everlasting.
18 For this is what the Lord says—
he who created the heavens,
he is God;
he who fashioned and made the earth,(BD)
he founded it;
he did not create it to be empty,(BE)
but formed it to be inhabited(BF)—
he says:
“I am the Lord,
and there is no other.(BG)
19 I have not spoken in secret,(BH)
from somewhere in a land of darkness;(BI)
I have not said to Jacob’s descendants,(BJ)
‘Seek(BK) me in vain.’
I, the Lord, speak the truth;
I declare what is right.(BL)
20 “Gather together(BM) and come;
assemble, you fugitives from the nations.
Ignorant(BN) are those who carry(BO) about idols of wood,
who pray to gods that cannot save.(BP)
21 Declare what is to be, present it—
let them take counsel together.
Who foretold(BQ) this long ago,
who declared it from the distant past?(BR)
Was it not I, the Lord?
And there is no God apart from me,(BS)
a righteous God(BT) and a Savior;(BU)
there is none but me.
22 “Turn(BV) to me and be saved,(BW)
all you ends of the earth;(BX)
for I am God, and there is no other.(BY)
23 By myself I have sworn,(BZ)
my mouth has uttered in all integrity(CA)
a word that will not be revoked:(CB)
Before me every knee will bow;(CC)
by me every tongue will swear.(CD)
24 They will say of me, ‘In the Lord alone
are deliverance(CE) and strength.(CF)’”
All who have raged against him
will come to him and be put to shame.(CG)
25 But all the descendants(CH) of Israel
will find deliverance(CI) in the Lord
and will make their boast in him.(CJ)
