8 Der Herr befahl mir: »Geh nun und schreib meine Worte vor den Augen dieser Leute auf eine Tafel! Ritz die Buchstaben tief ein, damit sie nicht verwittern, sondern für alle Zeiten erhalten bleiben. 9 Denn mein Volk ist ein widerspenstiges Volk. Wie missratene, verlogene Kinder sind sie, die sämtliche Weisungen von mir in den Wind schlagen. 10 Sie verbieten den Propheten zu weissagen. ›Wir wollen die Wahrheit gar nicht hören‹, wehren sie ab. ›Prophezeit uns lieber, was uns gefällt. Lasst uns in schönen Trugbildern leben, täuscht uns ruhig.

8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the Lord:
10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

8 Go now, write it on a tablet(A) for them,
inscribe it on a scroll,(B)
that for the days to come
it may be an everlasting witness.(C)
9 For these are rebellious(D) people, deceitful(E) children,
children unwilling to listen to the Lord’s instruction.(F)
10 They say to the seers,(G)
“See no more visions(H)!”
and to the prophets,
“Give us no more visions of what is right!
Tell us pleasant things,(I)
prophesy illusions.(J)
