Jeremiah 8:4-7

“Do men ^(A)fall and not get up again?
Does one turn away and not ^[a]turn back?
⁵ Why then has this people, Jerusalem,
^[b](B)Turned away in continual faithlessness?
They ^(C)hold fast to deceit;
They ^(D)refuse to return.
⁶ I ^(E)have given heed and heard,
They have spoken what is not right;
^(F)No man regretted his evil,
Saying, ‘What have I done?’
Everyone turned to his course,
Like a ^(G)horse charging into the battle.
⁷ Even the stork in the sky
^(H)Knows her seasons;
And the ^(I)turtledove and the swift and the crane
Keep the time of their ^[c]migration;
But ^(J)My people do not know
The legal judgment of Yahweh.
