Jeremiah 51:33-35

³³I am the Lord All-Powerful,
    the God of Israel,
and I make this promise—
“Soon Babylon will be leveled
    and packed down
like a threshing place
    at harvest time.”^[a]

Babylonia Will Pay!

³⁴The people of Jerusalem say,
“King Nebuchadnezzar^[b]
    made us panic.
That monster stuffed himself
with us and our treasures,
    leaving us empty—
he gobbled up
what he wanted
    and spit out the rest.
³⁵The people of Babylonia
harmed some of us^[c]
    and killed others.
Now, Lord, make them pay!”
