33 This is what the Lord of armies says:
“The sons of Israel are oppressed,
And the sons of Judah as well;
And (A)all who took them captive have held them firmly,
They have refused to let them go.
34 Their (B)Redeemer is strong, (C)the Lord of armies is His name;
He will vigorously (D)plead their case
So that He may (E)bring rest to their land,
But turmoil to the inhabitants of Babylon.

The Desolation of Babylon

33 This is what the Lord of Armies says:

Israelites and Judeans alike have been oppressed.
All their captors hold them fast;(A)
they refuse to release them.
34 Their Redeemer is strong;
the Lord of Armies is his name.
He will fervently champion their cause(B)
so that he might bring rest to the earth
but turmoil to those who live in Babylon.(C)
