³ because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke Me to anger, in that they went ^(A)to burn incense and to ^(B)serve other gods whom they did not know, they nor you nor your fathers.

²⁶ for they went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods that they did not know and that He had not given to them.

^6 (A)“If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, ^(B)the wife ^[a]of your bosom, or your friend ^(C)who is as your own soul, secretly entices you, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods,’ which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers,

^5 (A)we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments.

¹⁷ And He said to me, “Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a trivial thing to the house of Judah to commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have ^(A)filled the land with violence; then they have returned to provoke Me to anger. Indeed they put the branch to their nose. ^18 (B)Therefore I also will act in fury. My ^(C)eye will not spare nor will I have pity; and though they ^(D)cry in My ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them.”

⁸ in that you ^(A)provoke Me to wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have gone to dwell, that you may cut yourselves off and be ^(B)a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
