23 And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, 24 “Have you not observed what these people have asserted, saying, ‘The (A)two families which the Lord chose, He has (B)rejected them’? So they (C)despise My people as no longer being a nation [a]in their sight. 25 This is what the Lord says: ‘If My (D)covenant for day and night does not continue, and I have (E)not established the [b]fixed patterns of heaven and earth, 26 then I would (F)reject the [c]descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so as not to take from his [d]descendants (G)rulers over the [e]descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But I will (H)restore their fortunes and have (I)mercy on them.’”

23 And the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, saying,[a] 24 “Have you not seen how these people speak, saying,[b] ‘The two clans[c] whom Yahweh chose, he has also rejected them’? Thus they spurn my people from being a nation before them[d] any longer. 25 Thus says Yahweh: ‘If my covenant with day and with night, the regulations of heaven and earth, I had not established, 26 then the offspring of Jacob and David my servant I would reject, from choosing rulers from his offspring over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; for I will restore their fortunes[e] and I will have compassion on them.’”
