⁴⁰ And ^(A)I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but ^(B)I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.

A New Covenant

³¹ “Behold, the ^(A)days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— ³² not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that ^(B)I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, ^[a]though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. ^33 (C)But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: ^(D)I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their ^[b]hearts; ^(E)and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

²⁶ I will give you a ^(A)new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

^5 (A)who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

^17 (A)Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, ^(B)with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

God’s Infallible Purpose in Christ

¹³ For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, ^(A)He swore by Himself, ¹⁴ saying, ^(B)“Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” ¹⁵ And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the ^(C)promise. ¹⁶ For men indeed swear by the greater, and ^(D)an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute. ¹⁷ Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to ^(E)the heirs of promise ^(F)the ^[a]immutability of His counsel, ^[b]confirmed it by an oath, ¹⁸ that by two ^[c]immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to ^(G)lie, we ^[d]might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope ^(H)set before us.

^29 (A)And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have ^(B)poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,’ says the Lord God.”

⁷ Then I will give them ^(A)a heart to know Me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be ^(B)My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me ^(C)with their whole heart.
