29 In those days they shall no longer say:

(A)“‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
and the children's teeth are set on edge.’

30 (B)But everyone shall die for his own iniquity. Each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.

The New Covenant

31 (C)“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make (D)a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when (E)I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, (F)though I was their husband, declares the Lord. 33 (G)For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: (H)I will put my law within them, and I will write it (I)on their hearts. (J)And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ (K)for they shall all know me, (L)from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For (M)I will forgive their iniquity, and (N)I will remember their sin no more.”

The New Covenant

31 “Look, the days are coming”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“when I will make a new covenant(C) with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. 32 This one will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt—a covenant they broke even though I had married them”(D)—the Lord’s declaration. 33 “Instead, this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days”—the Lord’s declaration. “I will put My teaching within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people. 34 No longer will one teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’(E) for they will all know Me, from the least to the greatest of them”—this is the Lord’s declaration. “For I will forgive their wrongdoing(F) and never again remember their sin.”(G)
