Names of God Bible
Both Israel and Judah Will Be Rescued
31 “At that time,” declares Yahweh, “I will be the Elohim of all the families of Israel, and they will be my people.”
2 This is what Yahweh says:
The people who survived the wars have found favor in the desert.
Israel went to find its rest.
3 Yahweh appeared to me in a faraway place and said,
“I love you with an everlasting love.
So I will continue to show you my kindness.
4 Once again I will build you up,
and you will be rebuilt, my dear people Israel.
Once again you will take your tambourines,
and you will go dancing with happy people.
5 Once again you will plant vineyards on the mountains of Samaria.
Those who plant them will enjoy the fruit.
6 There will be a day when watchmen on the mountains of Ephraim
will call out this message:
‘Arise! Let’s go to Zion, to Yahweh our Elohim.’”
7 This is what Yahweh says:
Sing a happy song about Jacob.
Sing joyfully for the leader of the nations.
Shout, sing praise, and say,
“O Yahweh, rescue your people, the remaining few from Israel.”
8 “I will bring them from the land of the north.
I will gather them from the farthest parts of the earth.
Blind people and lame people will return
together with pregnant women and those in labor.
A large crowd will return here.
9 They will cry as they return.
They will pray as I bring them back.
I will lead them beside streams
on a level path where they will not stumble.
I will be an Ab to Israel,
and Ephraim will be my firstborn.
10 “You nations, listen to the word of Yahweh.
Tell it to the distant islands.
Say, ‘The one who scattered the people of Israel will gather them
and watch over them as a shepherd watches over his flock.’
11 Yahweh will free the descendants of Jacob
and reclaim them from those who are stronger than they are.
12 They will come and shout for joy on top of Mount Zion.
They will stream to it to enjoy Yahweh’s blessings:
fresh grain, new wine, and olive oil, lambs and calves.
Their lives will be like well-watered gardens,
and they will never suffer again.
13 Then young women will rejoice and dance
along with young men and old men.
I will turn their mourning into joy.
I will comfort them.
I will give them joy in place of their sorrow.
14 I will satisfy the priests with rich food.
My people will be filled with my blessings,” declares Yahweh.
15 This is what Yahweh says:
A sound is heard in Ramah,
the sound of crying in bitter grief.
Rachel is crying for her children.
She refuses to be comforted,
because they are dead.
16 This is what Yahweh says:
Stop your crying, and wipe away your tears.
You will be rewarded for your work, declares Yahweh.
You will return from the land of the enemy.
17 Your future is filled with hope, declares Yahweh.
Your children will return to their own territory.
18 “I have certainly heard Ephraim mourn and say,
‘You disciplined me, and I was disciplined.
I was like a young, untrained calf.
Turn me, and I will be turned,
because you are Yahweh my Elohim.
19 After I was turned around, I changed the way I thought and acted.
After I was taught a lesson, I hung my head in shame.
I was so ashamed and humiliated,
because of all the stupid things I have done
ever since I was young.’
20 Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a pleasant child?
Even though I have often spoken against him, I still think fondly of him.
That is why my heart longs for him,
and I will certainly have compassion on him,” declares Yahweh.
21 Set up landmarks!
Put up road signs!
Remember the highway, the road on which you traveled.
Come back, my dear people Israel, come back to your cities.
22 How long will you wander around, you unfaithful people?
Yahweh will create something new on earth:
A woman will protect a man.
23 This is what Yahweh Tsebaoth, the Elohim of Israel, says: When I have brought them back from captivity, they will once again use this saying in Judah and in its cities:
“Yahweh bless you, home of righteousness, holy mountain.
24 Judah and all its cities will live there together.
Farmers and shepherds will also live there.
25 I will give those who are weary all they need.
I will refresh everyone who is filled with sorrow.”
26 At this, I woke up and looked around. My sleep had been pleasant.
27 “The days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will plant the nations of Israel and Judah with people and animals. 28 Once I watched over them to uproot them, to tear them down, and to wreck, ruin, and hurt them. Now I will watch over them to build them up and to plant them,” declares Yahweh. 29 “When those days come, people will no longer say, ‘Fathers have eaten sour grapes, and their children’s teeth are set on edge.’ 30 But each person will die for his own sin. Whoever eats sour grapes will have his own teeth set on edge.
The New Promise
31 “The days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will make a new promise[a] to Israel and Judah. 32 It will not be like the promise that I made to their ancestors when I took them by the hand and brought them out of Egypt. They rejected that promise, although I was a husband to them,” declares Yahweh. 33 “But this is the promise that I will make to Israel after those days,” declares Yahweh: “I will put my teachings inside them, and I will write those teachings on their hearts. I will be their Elohim, and they will be my people. 34 No longer will each person teach his neighbors or his relatives by saying, ‘Know Yahweh.’ All of them, from the least important to the most important, will know me,” declares Yahweh, “because I will forgive their wickedness and I will no longer hold their sins against them.”
35 Yahweh provides the sun to be a light during the day.
He orders the moon and stars to be lights during the night.
He stirs up the sea so that its waves roar.
His name is Yahweh Tsebaoth.
This is what Yahweh says:
36 Only if these laws stop working, declares Yahweh,
will Israel’s descendants stop being a nation in my presence.
37 This is what Yahweh says:
Only if the heavens could be measured
or the foundations of the earth could be searched,
would I ever reject all of Israel’s descendants
because of everything that they have done, declares Yahweh.
38 “The days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when the city will be rebuilt for Yahweh from the Tower of Hananel to Corner Gate. 39 A measuring line will stretch from there straight to the Hill of Gareb, and then it will turn to Goah. 40 The whole valley, filled with its dead bodies and ashes, and the whole area to the Kidron Valley, as far as the corner of Horse Gate in the east, will be holy to Yahweh. It will never be uprooted or torn down again.”

31 «En aquel tiempo —afirma el Señor—, seré el Dios de todas las familias de Israel, y ellas serán mi pueblo».
2 Así dice el Señor:
«El pueblo que escapó de la espada
ha hallado gracia en el desierto;
Israel va en busca de su reposo».
3 Hace mucho tiempo[a] se me apareció el Señor y me dijo:
«Con amor eterno te he amado;
por eso te he prolongado mi fidelidad,
4 oh virginal Israel.
Te edificaré de nuevo;
¡sí, serás reedificada!
De nuevo tomarás panderos
y saldrás a bailar con alegría.
5 Volverás a plantar viñedos
en las colinas de Samaria
y, quienes los planten,
gozarán de sus frutos.
6 Vendrá un día en que los centinelas
gritarán por las colinas de Efraín:
“¡Vengan, subamos a Sión,
al Señor nuestro Dios!”».
7 Así dice el Señor:
«Canten jubilosos en honor de Jacob;
griten de alegría por la mejor de las naciones.
Hagan oír sus alabanzas y clamen:
“¡Salva, Señor, a tu pueblo!
¡Salva al remanente de Israel!”.
8 Yo los traeré del país del norte;
los reuniré de los confines de la tierra.
¡Volverá una gran multitud!
Entre ellos vendrán ciegos y cojos,
embarazadas y parturientas.
9 Entre llantos vendrán
y entre consuelos los conduciré.
Los guiaré a corrientes de agua
por un camino llano en el que no tropezarán.
Yo soy el padre de Israel;
mi primogénito es Efraín.
10 »Naciones, escuchen la palabra del Señor,
y anuncien en las costas más lejanas:
“El que dispersó a Israel, lo reunirá;
lo cuidará como un pastor a su rebaño”.
11 Porque el Señor rescató a Jacob;
lo redimió de una mano más poderosa que él.
12 Vendrán y cantarán jubilosos en las alturas de Sión;
disfrutarán de las bondades del Señor:
el trigo, el vino nuevo y el aceite,
las crías de las ovejas y las vacas.
Serán como un jardín bien regado,
y no volverán a desfallecer.
13 Entonces las jóvenes danzarán con alegría
y los jóvenes junto con los ancianos.
Convertiré su duelo en gozo y los consolaré;
transformaré su dolor en alegría.
14 Colmaré de abundancia a los sacerdotes,
y saciaré con mis bienes a mi pueblo»,
afirma el Señor.
15 Así dice el Señor:
«Se oye un grito en Ramá,
lamentos y amargo llanto.
Es Raquel que llora por sus hijos
y no quiere ser consolada.
¡Sus hijos ya no existen!».
16 Así dice el Señor:
«Reprime tu llanto,
las lágrimas de tus ojos,
pues tus obras tendrán su recompensa:
tus hijos volverán del país enemigo»,
afirma el Señor.
17 «Se vislumbra esperanza en tu futuro:
tus hijos volverán a su patria»,
afirma el Señor.
18 «Por cierto, he escuchado el lamento de Efraín:
“Me has azotado como a un ternero sin domar
y he aceptado tu corrección.
Hazme volver, y seré restaurado;
porque tú, Señor, eres mi Dios.
19 Yo me aparté,
pero me arrepentí;
al comprenderlo
me di golpes de pecho.[b]
Me siento avergonzado y humillado
porque cargo con la deshonra de mi juventud”.
20 ¿Acaso no es Efraín mi hijo amado?
¿Acaso no es el niño en quien me deleito?
Cada vez que lo reprendo,
vuelvo a acordarme de él.
Por él mi corazón se conmueve;
por él siento mucha compasión»,
afirma el Señor.
21 «Ponte señales en el camino,
coloca marcas por donde pasaste,
fíjate bien en el sendero.
¡Vuelve, virginal Israel;
vuelve a tus ciudades!
22 ¿Hasta cuándo andarás errante,
hija infiel?
El Señor creará algo nuevo en la tierra,
la mujer regresará a su esposo».[c]
23 Así dice el Señor de los Ejércitos, el Dios de Israel: «Cuando yo los haga volver del cautiverio,[d] en la tierra de Judá y en sus ciudades volverá a decirse: “Que el Señor te bendiga, morada de justicia, monte santo”. 24 Allí habitarán juntos Judá y todas sus ciudades, los agricultores y los pastores de rebaños. 25 Daré de beber a los sedientos y saciaré a los que estén agotados».
26 En ese momento me desperté y abrí los ojos. Había tenido un sueño agradable.
27 «Vienen días —afirma el Señor—, en que sembraré en Israel y en Judá la simiente de hombres y de animales. 28 Y así como he estado vigilándolos para arrancar y derribar, para destruir y demoler, y para traer calamidad, así también habré de vigilarlos para construir y plantar», afirma el Señor. 29 «En aquellos días no volverá a decirse:
»“Los padres comieron uvas agrias
y a los hijos les duelen los dientes”.
30 Al contrario, al que coma las uvas agrias le dolerán los dientes; es decir, que cada uno morirá por su propia iniquidad.
31 »Vienen días»,
afirma el Señor,
«en que haré un nuevo pacto
con Israel y con Judá.
32 No será un pacto
como el que hice con sus antepasados
el día en que los tomé de la mano
y los saqué de Egipto,
ya que ellos lo quebrantaron
a pesar de que yo era su esposo»,
afirma el Señor.
33 «Este es el pacto que después de aquel tiempo
haré con el pueblo de Israel», afirma el Señor.
«Pondré mi Ley en su mente
y la escribiré en su corazón.
Yo seré su Dios
y ellos serán mi pueblo.
34 Ya nadie tendrá que enseñar a su prójimo;
tampoco dirá nadie a su hermano: “¡Conoce al Señor!”,
porque todos, desde el más pequeño hasta el más grande,
me conocerán»,
afirma el Señor.
«Porque yo perdonaré su iniquidad
y nunca más me acordaré de sus pecados».
35 Así dice el Señor,
cuyo nombre es el Señor de los Ejércitos,
quien estableció el sol
para alumbrar el día,
la luna y las estrellas
para alumbrar la noche
y agita el mar
para que rujan sus olas:
36 «Si alguna vez fallaran estos estatutos»,
afirma el Señor,
«entonces la descendencia de Israel
ya nunca más sería mi nación especial».
37 Así dice el Señor:
«Si se pudieran medir los cielos en lo alto,
y en lo bajo explorar los cimientos de la tierra,
entonces yo rechazaría a la descendencia de Israel
por todo lo que ha hecho»,
afirma el Señor.
38 «Vienen días —afirma el Señor—, en que la ciudad del Señor será reconstruida, desde la torre de Jananel hasta la puerta de la Esquina. 39 El cordel para medir se extenderá en línea recta, desde allí hasta la colina de Gareb, y luego girará hacia Goa. 40 Todo el valle donde se arrojan los cadáveres y las cenizas, y todos los campos, hasta el arroyo de Cedrón y hasta la puerta de los Caballos, en la esquina oriental, estarán consagrados al Señor. ¡Nunca más la ciudad será arrancada ni derribada!».
