2 Así ha dicho el Señor:
«Israel, un pueblo que escapó de morir a filo de espada, halló gracia en el desierto y ahora avanza en busca de reposo.»
3 Hace ya mucho tiempo, el Señor se hizo presente y me dijo:
«Yo te amo con amor eterno. Por eso te he prolongado mi misericordia. 4 Yo volveré a reconstruirte, virginal Jerusalén. Y serás reconstruida, y te adornarán con panderos para que dances con alegría.

will find favor(A) in the wilderness;
I will come to give rest(B) to Israel.”

2 Thus says the Lord:
“The people who survived the sword
found grace in the wilderness;
(A)when Israel sought for rest,
3 the Lord appeared to him[a] from far away.
(B)I have loved you with an everlasting love;
therefore (C)I have continued (D)my faithfulness to you.
4 (E)Again I will build you, and you shall be built,
O virgin Israel!
(F)Again you shall adorn yourself with tambourines
and shall go forth in (G)the dance of the merrymakers.
