^7 (A)I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, ^(B)and they shall be my people ^(C)and I will be their God, ^(D)for they shall return to me with their whole heart.

^23 (A)They shall not ^(B)defile themselves anymore ^(C)with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But ^(D)I will save them from all the backslidings^[a] in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and ^(E)they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

^24 (A)I will take you ^(B)from the nations and gather you from all the countries and ^(C)bring you into your own land. ^25 (D)I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from ^(E)all your uncleannesses, and ^(F)from all your idols ^(G)I will cleanse you. ²⁶ And I will give you ^(H)a new heart, and ^(I)a new spirit I will put within you. ^(J)And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. ^27 (K)And I will put my Spirit within you, ^(L)and cause you to walk in my statutes and ^(M)be careful to obey my rules.^{[a] 28 (N)}You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and ^(O)you shall be my people, and I will be your God.

⁸ and I will bring them to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. ^(A)And they shall be my people, and I will be their God, ^(B)in faithfulness and in righteousness.”

² and ^(A)return to the Lord your God, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul, ³ then the Lord your God ^(B)will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and he will ^(C)gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you. ^4 (D)If your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there he will take you. ⁵ And the Lord your God will bring you into the land that your fathers possessed, that you may possess it. ^(E)And he will make you more prosperous and numerous than your fathers. ⁶ And ^(F)the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, ^(G)so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

¹⁷ But ^(A)thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the ^(B)standard of teaching to which you were committed,
