19 Do give heed to me, O Yahweh,
And listen to the voice of those who contend against me!
20 (A)Should good be repaid with evil?
For they have (B)dug a pit for [a]me.
Remember how I (C)stood before You
To speak good on their behalf,
So as to turn away Your wrath from them.
21 Therefore, (D)give their children over to famine
And deliver them up to the [b]power of the sword;
And let their wives become (E)childless and (F)widowed.
Let their men also be [c]smitten to death,
Their (G)young men struck down by the sword in battle.
22 May an (H)outcry be heard from their houses,
When You suddenly bring raiders upon them;
(I)For they have dug a pit to capture me
And (J)hidden snares for my feet.
23 Yet You, O Yahweh, know
All their [d]deadly counsel against me;
(K)Do not atone for their iniquity
Or blot out their sin from before You.
But may they be [e](L)overthrown before You;
Deal with them in the (M)time of Your anger!

19 Listen to me, Lord.
Listen to what my opponents are saying.
20 Should good be repaid with evil?
Yet they have dug a pit for me.
Remember how I stood before you to speak on their behalf,
to turn your anger from them.
21 Therefore, hand their children over to famine,
and hand them over to the power of the sword.
Let their wives become childless widows.
Let their men be put to death,
and their young men be struck in battle by the sword.
22 Let a cry be heard from their houses
when you suddenly bring marauders against them,
because they have dug a pit to capture me
and have hidden snares for my feet.
23 But you, Lord, are aware of all their plots to kill me.
Do not forgive their guilt.
Do not blot out their sin from your sight.
Let them be overthrown in your presence.
Deal with them in the time of your anger.
