¹⁰ if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it.

¹¹ “Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Behold, I am fashioning a disaster and devising a plan against you. ^(A)Return now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings ^(B)good.” ’ ”

God’s Warning Rejected

¹² And they said, ^(C)“That is hopeless! So we will walk according to our own plans, and we will every one ^[a]obey the ^(D)dictates^[b] of his evil heart.”

^8 (A)Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but ^(B)everyone ^[a]followed the dictates of his evil heart; therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but which they have not done.’ ”

¹⁴ “So ^(A)do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry out to Me because of their trouble.
