Jeremiah 14:3-5

³And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.

⁴Because the ground is chapt, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.

⁵Yea, the hind also calved in the field, and forsook it, because there was no grass.

    they come to the cisterns;
they find no water;
    they return with their vessels empty;
they are ^(A)ashamed and confounded

⁴Because of the ground that is dismayed,
    since there is ^(C)no rain on the land,
the farmers are ashamed;
    they cover their heads.
⁵Even ^(D)the doe in the field forsakes her newborn fawn
