Jeremiah 11:20-22
Common English Bible
20 Lord of heavenly forces, righteous judge,
who tests the heart and mind,
let me see your revenge upon them,
because I have committed my case to you.
21 This is what the Lord says concerning the men from Anathoth who seek your life and say, “Don’t prophesy in the Lord’s name or else you will die at our hands.” 22 Therefore, the Lord of heavenly forces proclaims, I’m going to punish them. Their young men will die in war, and their sons and daughters will die by famine.

20 But you, Lord Almighty, who judge righteously(A)
and test the heart(B) and mind,(C)
let me see your vengeance(D) on them,
for to you I have committed my cause.
21 Therefore this is what the Lord says about the people of Anathoth(E) who are threatening to kill you,(F) saying, “Do not prophesy(G) in the name of the Lord or you will die(H) by our hands”— 22 therefore this is what the Lord Almighty says: “I will punish them. Their young men(I) will die by the sword, their sons and daughters by famine.
