⁸ who alone ^(A)stretched out the heavens
    and trampled the waves of the sea;

⁸ Thus says the Lord:
^(A)“In a ^(B)time of favor I have answered you;
    in a day of salvation I have helped you;
I will keep you ^(C)and give you
    as a covenant to the people,
to establish the land,
    ^(D)to apportion the desolate heritages,

² for he has ^(A)founded it upon ^(B)the seas
    and established it upon the rivers.

²² It is he who sits above the circle of the earth,
    and its inhabitants are ^(A)like grasshoppers;
^(B)who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
    and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;
