14 They have (A)healed the brokenness of My people superficially,
Saying, ‘Peace, peace,’
But there is no peace.
15 Were they (B)ashamed because of the abomination they had done?
They were not ashamed at all,
Nor did they know even how to be ashamed.
Therefore they will fall among those who fall;
At the time that I punish them,
They will collapse,” says the Lord.

14 They dress the wound of my people
as though it were not serious.
‘Peace, peace,’ they say,
when there is no peace.(A)
15 Are they ashamed of their detestable conduct?
No, they have no shame at all;
they do not even know how to blush.(B)
So they will fall among the fallen;
they will be brought down when I punish(C) them,”
says the Lord.

15 Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning the prophets who are prophesying in My name, although it was not I who sent them—yet they keep saying: ‘There will be no sword or famine in this land’—(A)by sword and famine those prophets shall meet their end!
