Jeremiah 52:24-30
New English Translation

24 The captain of the royal guard took Seraiah the chief priest, Zephaniah the priest who was second in rank, and the three doorkeepers.[a] 25 From the city he took an official who was in charge of the soldiers, seven of the king’s advisers who were discovered in the city, an official army secretary who drafted citizens[b] for military service, and sixty citizens who were discovered in the middle of the city. 26 Nebuzaradan, the captain of the royal guard, took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah. 27 The king of Babylon ordered them to be executed[c] at Riblah in the territory of Hamath.

So Judah was taken into exile away from its land. 28 Here is the official record of the number of people[d] Nebuchadnezzar carried into exile: In the seventh year,[e] 3,023 Jews; 29 in Nebuchadnezzar’s eighteenth year,[f] 832 people from Jerusalem; 30 in Nebuchadnezzar’s twenty-third year,[g] Nebuzaradan, the captain of the royal guard, carried into exile 745 Judeans. In all, 4,600 people went into exile.

The People Exiled to Babylon

24 And the captain of the guard took (A)Seraiah the chief priest, and (B)Zephaniah the second priest and the three keepers of the threshold; 25 and from the city he took an officer who had been in command of the men of war, and (C)seven men of the king's council, who were found in the city; and the secretary of the commander of the army, who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, who were found in the midst of the city. 26 And Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at (D)Riblah. 27 And the king of Babylon struck them down and put them to death at (E)Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was taken into exile out of its land.

28 This is the number of the people whom Nebuchadnezzar carried away captive: (F)in the seventh year, 3,023 Judeans; 29 (G)in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem 832 persons; 30 in the twenty-third year of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Judeans 745 persons; all the persons were 4,600.

24 The commander of the guard took as prisoners Seraiah(A) the chief priest, Zephaniah(B) the priest next in rank and the three doorkeepers.(C) 25 Of those still in the city, he took the officer in charge of the fighting men, and seven royal advisers. He also took the secretary(D) who was chief officer in charge of conscripting the people of the land, sixty of whom were found in the city. 26 Nebuzaradan(E) the commander took them all and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah. 27 There at Riblah,(F) in the land of Hamath, the king had them executed.

So Judah went into captivity, away(G) from her land. 28 This is the number of the people Nebuchadnezzar carried into exile:(H)

in the seventh year, 3,023 Jews;

29 in Nebuchadnezzar’s eighteenth year,

832 people from Jerusalem;

30 in his twenty-third year,

745 Jews taken into exile(I) by Nebuzaradan the commander of the imperial guard.

There were 4,600 people in all.(J)
